Busy, but Happy!

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. I’ve been battling a cold and crazy sinus pressure that has pretty much taken up all of my energy. Plus I’ve been super busy with work, and all I have wanted to do when I go home is zone out and sleep. I’m feeling much better today though, and we finally finished up our last experiments today. I am extremely happy about this! The last few weeks have basically been spent slumped over a microscope and removing small parasites from organs. It is extremely time-consuming and I’m pretty sure my shoulders and back hate me right now from being bent over for hours at a time. The good news is that I will probably only have to do this one more time before I leave for medical school, and we may get a few more publications out of it. My PI even wants me to write a research note for the Journal of Parasitology, and if I can pull it off, it will be the first time I ever get first author on a publication. Looking forward to the busy, but less labor-intensive weeks ahead!

Other than that, I am currently in my lab right now and I wanted to share this with you all. I am sure most of you have heard “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, but I figured I would post it because every time I hear it my day gets a little bit brighter :-)
